How Prince William was all at sea on his surfing stag do

Prince William’s friends may not have chained him to a lamp post, but it seems they still managed to make him look a little bit silly on his stag do.
The 28-year-old is said to have held his party two weekends ago at Hartland Abbey, the 12-century North Devon home of his friend George Stucley’s family.
And among the activities the group of friends tried, was some surfing – apparently not one of William’s talents.
Jordan Clark, 17, was in the water at a secluded cove called Speke’s Mill, when he saw the Prince.
The student said: ‘I didn’t realise who it was at first but then George Stucley came over to me and said, “Can you watch out for these lads as they don’t really know what they are doing?”.
'I looked over and realised it was William. They weren’t very good. They were just paddling about having a laugh.’
Prince William's stag was more low-key than anticipated. When Prince Harry was given the job as best man, many thought the party would involve downing cocktails at a string of top London nightclubs.
The guests are reported to have included James Meade, who Prince William met at Eton, and Thomas Van Straubenzee who attended Ludgroe Prep School in Berkshire with the Prince.

Hugh Van Cutsem, whose father owns a large estate in Norfolk, is also understood to have been present. Cutsem is one of Prince Charles' godsons.
The event would have taken place closer to the royal wedding on April 29, as is the tradition for stag parties, but Prince William had a number of royal engagements.
Prince William's low-key event was similar to the stag do of his father, Prince Charles, before he married Lady Diana Spencer.
