Art teacher at top public school left distraught after topless photos are emailed between hundreds of pupils

They are not usually part of the curriculum at £29,670-a-year Harrow School.
But a series of topless photographs of one of the establishment’s teachers have been receiving very close attention this week from almost all Harrow’s 825 male pupils.
Now art teacher Joanna Salley is on a temporary leave of absence from the school where she was reportedly taken home from in tears.
According to pupils at the school, which educated seven prime ministers including Winston Churchill, the photos came to light just as boys were about to sit GCSE art exams.
Within hours Miss Salley, a Cambridge graduate, former model and beauty queen, discovered that snaps of herself in a state of undress were being emailed around the school.
‘She was topless,’ says one sixth former. ‘Everyone already thought Miss Salley was a babe anyway so naturally the photo went round the school like wildfire.’
Miss Salley, 32, a former girlfriend of England rugby star Matt Dawson, was apparently snapped showing off her decolletage by fellow teacher Fiona Corthine.
A source at the school said: ‘The pictures were on a memory stick in the photographic studio and one of the boys looked at them.

Not only did they flash through Harrow, the snaps were also sent to pupils at the previous school where Joanna worked, fee-paying Merchant Taylors’ in Hertfordshire.
Harrow head Barnaby Lenon said: ‘Joanna Salley is a long-standing and successful art teacher at Harrow who has in the past been a model.
'Photographs of her modelling were taken by a professional photographer who also teaches at the school.

‘The pictures were stolen without the agreement of the photographer. The matter is being investigated.’
He adds: ‘Joanna was understandably very upset. She is a very good art teacher who also contributes to a lot of things like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.’

Public relations expert Max Clifford today said the incident could be turned to Miss Salley’s advantage.
He said: 'Joanne Salley would be perfect for the new lingerie range Boux Avenue. Her looks and her background as a Harrow teacher make her up-market and sexy.

Originally from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, the former girlfriend of England rugby star Matt Dawson has admitted her striking looks and former modelling career caused ripples of excitement among pupils  when she first arrived at Harrow.
'One of the boys kept sending me love letters, which wasn’t really appropriate,' she once said.
'Another pupil used to turn up to my classes even though I didn’t teach him. When I got angry with him, he seemed to like me even more.'
